"―From Now On, You Better Treat Me with That Same Energy, Too!"
Chapter 166
Sheddin' Tears of Blood in Dead Silence Under the Moon I Looked Up At
September had straight-up arrived.
Even though accordin' to the calendar, fall had already kicked in a while ago, the suffocatin'-*ss heat was still hangin' around big time.
But either way, today was the start of a brand-new semester.
With school life finally kickin' back into gear after a hot minute, Hayato's steps felt crazy-*ss light as he walked down the school route.
The second Hayato stepped foot inside the classroom, he couldn't help but let out a tiny-*ss bitter smile, feelin' a wave of nostalgia for this noisy-*ss place packed with kids his own age.
A whole lot of d*mn things had gone down durin' this Summer Vacation.
Taking a quick-*ss look around, it seemed like the exact same thing went for the rest of his classmates too. Hayato spotted kids with pitch-black sunburns, others with completely-*ss different body shapes and hairstyles than before, and even some boys and girls who'd suddenly closed the d*mn distance between them.
They most definitely-*ss all had their own separate stories to tell.
This kind of visible-*ss change was somethin' you'd straight-up never lay eyes on back in Tsukinose. I mean, there were barely any d*mn people over there to begin with.
Ever since movin' to the city, it was somethin' Hayato felt straight in his bones—things just changed at a crazy-*ss dizzyin' pace.
And honestly, there were plenty of times Hayato just couldn't keep up with those sudden-*ss changes.
Speakin' of who straight-up changed this summer, Haruki, who was sittin' in the next seat, probably looked completely-*ss different to the people around them too.
"…Phew."
Haruki let out a heavy-*ss sigh, lookin' completely restless and fidgety for some d*mn reason.
Every now and then, as if suddenly rememberin' somethin', Haruki'd pull out her smartphone, mess around starin' lookin' at the screen, and then let out another d*mn sigh.
The way Haruki was actin' made it total-*ss crystal clear that she was deeply pinnin' after somethin', or someone. …Just like how Himeko used to be back in the day.
It wasn't like Hayato didn't straight-up understand Haruki's feelin's.
But obviously-*ss, there was no way that wouldn't draw eyes, and Hayato was gettin' hit with a bunch of rude, nosy-*ss stares from the crowd.
Right as Hayato was scratchin' his head, knittin' his brows in total frustration, someone suddenly-*ss locked him into a tight shoulder-scrunch from behind, like they weren't about to let him slip away.
"Ha~ ya~ to~"
"I-Iori!"
"Man, I had a brutal-*ss time! I was totally countin' on our part-time job shifts, but you straight-up bailed and left a massive hole in the schedule~ …D*mmit, thanks to that, I couldn't take Ema anywhere during the second half of Summer Break…!"
"M-My bad, a whole bunch of d*mn things piled up even after I got back here… …Oh, so, I heard Kazuki pitched in to help out?"
"Yeah. I mean, Kazuki's got club activities so it was only as much as he could handle. But still, if he hadn't been there, we would've been straight-up screwed."
"I see. I'll have to make sure to thank Kazuki next time."
"…So, what the heck actually went down between you and Nikaidō?"
"Oh, about that… …A-Ahahaha…"
Iori shot a suspicious-*ss glare straight over toward Haruki.
With a side-eye that silently-*ss screamed, "What the heck is goin' on, start talkin'," Hayato had absolutely-*ss no idea how to even swing an answer.
While Hayato was tryin' to laugh it off with a total-*ss fake smile, someone who'd completely lost their d*mn patience straight-up ambushed Haruki. It was Iori's girlfriend, Isami Ema.
"Long time no see, Nikaidō-san."
"Oh, Isami-san… …I'm so d*mn sorry for suddenly makin' you cover my part-time job shifts over the last few days…"
"Ahahaha, can't be helped if it's a total emergency, right? But, yeah, puttin' that aside… …does the reason you couldn't show up for work have anythin' to do with whoever you're textin' on that smartphone?"
"―!? U-Um, well, this is actually…"
"Actually…?"
Isami Ema had this heavy-*ss, dominatin' vibe that straight-up didn't let anyone say no.
Was Ema bringin' that much heat just because the job was busy as heck, or did she hold a total-*ss grudge for gettin' her schedule ruined?
Flustered out of her d*mn mind, Haruki was bein' backed straight into a corner.
Seeing this as a golden-*ss opportunity, the other girls around them started crowdin' in, chirpin', "Oh, what's the gossip? What happened?" "By the way, is it straight-up true that Nikaidō-san started working part-time at Okashitsukasa Shiro?" They completely-*ss surrounded Haruki, leaving her with zero chance of escapin'.
Hayato let out a tiny-*ss bitter smile, basically offerin' his condolences for Haruki's tragic fate, and muttered somethin' under his breath in a tight, worried-*ss voice.
"…And here I thought Saki-san straight-up said she was gonna wait until high school."
◇◇◇
If you change yourself, the world changes with you.
That was exactly why Saki made up her d*mn mind to be just a tiny-*ss bit more honest with her own heart, promisin' herself to put her deepest wishes straight into words.
But the world was straight-up movin' at a dizzyin' speed that Saki couldn't have guessed in a million d*mn years.
Whenever the world decides to change, it always goes down in a single, sudden-*ss split second.
"Whoa, her skin is crazy-*ss pale! Wait, is that her actual, natural hair color?!"
"She's so d*mn cute! And hold up, aren't her melons like, pretty huge too?! Oh man, this is straight-up gettin' me hyped!"
"Wait, isn't she that childhood buddy from Kirishima-chan's total-*ss hometown?"
"Hey there, Saki-chan!"
Spreadin' right out in front of Saki's eyes was a massive crowd of classmates that easily-*ss rivaled the total number of students in the entire elementary and middle schools back in Tsukinose.
The sheer amount of d*mn people made Saki's head spin like crazy. And apparently, there were still three more classrooms packed just like this one. She couldn't wrap her d*mn brain around it.
Saki'd heard that the city had way more people than Tsukinose, sure, but this straight-up blew her imagination right out of the water.
Getting completely-*ss blasted by a wall of curious stares from that many d*mn people, it was no wonder Saki's entire body went dead-*ss stiff from pure, terrifyin' tension.
Right now, Saki was standin' straight-*ss in front of the podium as a new transfer student in a City Middle School.
Instead of some countryside-style, tacky jumper skirt, Saki was wearin' a brand-new sailor suit with a super slick design. It looked way too d*mn stylish, makin' her feel kinda restless and paranoid that she was lettin' the outfit wear her, constantly-*ss worryin' if her collar or hemline was bent out of shape.
The bright-*ss, sparklin' smile on Saki's bestie (Himeko)'s face, who was brainlessly-*ss wavin' both hands from the corner of the classroom, felt a tiny-*ss bit annoyin' to Saki right now.
(How the heck did things even turn out like this~?!)
Since that day, Saki had straight-up put her deepest wishes into words, tellin' her Parents, Grandparents, and the rest of her relatives exactly what she wanted.
That Saki wanted to go to the city.
That Saki absolutely-*ss wanted to attend the exact same high school that Hayato, Haruki, and Himeko were probably gonna go to. Saki was dead-*ss desperate.
For Saki's Parents, Grandparents, and relatives—who knew Saki as a good, low-maintenance kid who'd always been super dedicated to learnin' the family shrine business—this was the first time they'd ever heard a selfish-*ss demand come out of her mouth.
The answer they dropped along with their total-*ss shock was exactly what led to this current situation.
Saki was completely-*ss surprised, feelin' a mix of bein' happy and a tiny-*ss bit guilty about it.
Thanks to that, the last week of August turned into a massive-*ss, upside-down uproar that dragged in everyone from Tsukinose, not to mention completely-*ss ropin' in Hayato, Haruki, and Himeko.
Even though they'd already been scoutin' out some properties and makin' arrangements to move for Saki's future schoolin', it was still a brutal-*ss rush job.
Borrowin' favors and hands from a whole bunch of d*mn connections, they'd suddenly-*ss managed to make the move to the city happen.
"Um, Murao-san, right?"
"Y-Yeah! My name is Murao Saki! I just transferred here from way deep in the mountains, so I'm pretty much a total-*ss countryside bumpkin who doesn't know left from right, but―"
Nudged along by the Homeroom Teacher, Saki stumbled out her introduction, trippin' over her d*mn words.
Thinkin' back, Saki already-*ss knew that the world could completely change in a single, split second.
But even so, this exact situation was way the heck out of left field.
Honestly-*ss, Saki was completely flustered.
But still, even so, Saki was the one who'd made up her d*mn mind to change.
Saki couldn't back down now.
Saki took one d*mn deep breath.
Puffin' out her chest and wearin' a fearless, confident-*ss smile by her own standards, Saki proudly-*ss shouted her declaration.
"―From now on, you better treat me with that same energy, too!"
And just like that, Saki stood there with her shoulders givin' a sharp-*ss twitch, completely overwhelmed as she was welcomed by a massive wall of applause and cheers.
Author's Notes:
With this, Part 4 of Tenbin is straight-up wrapped up.
How'd you guys like it?
"It was crazy-*ss fun! Totally looking forward to Part 5!"
If that's what's on your mind, I'd be hyped as heck if you could go ahead and black out those stars straight to a five-star ★★★★★ rating.
If you guys actually-*ss buy the physical books to support me, I'm straight-up gonna end up goin' Meow! from pure joy.
Meow!
Today happens to be the official release day for the Tenbin manga adaptation.
Make sure to show some d*mn love to that side of things too, alright?
Since I gotta grind through the book publishin' work and flesh out the storyline plot for Part 5, the comeback for Part 5 is gonna take a hot minute. I'm kinda hopin' I can time the next drop to line up with the next manga update.
Oh, and by the way, for the reviews and fan letters, just typin' out Meow! is straight-up more than enough, okay?!
