Haruki and the girls hit up the specialty shop district in Shine Spirits City to grab some swimwear.
It's this massive corridor-style mall that connects all the buildins', sprawlin' from the first basement level up to the third floor.
True to its name, there were tons of different shops lined up, and since it's summer, every single one of 'em was throwin' some kind of pool or beach-themed fair.
Inside one of those shops, Haruki was standin' there with a total nervous twitch in her cheek.
"Haru-chan, what about this tie-side bikini? C'mon, let's be a little adventurous for once!"
"Wait, the bottom is literally just held together by strings!? I think that's a bit too much for me to handle, maybe..."
"Ema-san, what do you think of this one!? Goin' with somethin' a bit more chill will give off major mature vibes, and your boyfriend will be like, 'Whoa,' and then he'll just wanna go in for a huge hug! Your boyfriend for sure!"
"A-Ahaha, you really think so?"
Haruki wasn't the only one with a twitchy face—Isami Ema was feelin' it too. That's just how hyped up Himeko was gettin'.
(Well, I mean, at least the vibe isn't bad, right?)
When they first met up with Isami Ema, Himeko was actin' all shy and twitchy like she usually does. And Isami Ema was givin' Himeko some pretty intense side-eye, too.
But then, Himeko got totally blown away by how massive Shine Spirits City was, and the second she heard Isami Ema casually mention that she "comes here a lot with her boyfriend," Himeko's emotional filter just snapped.
Turns out the word "boyfriend" really hit a chord with Himeko. And just like that, she got all clingy. Himeko is as easy to win over as ever. Now Isami Ema is the one who's totally overwhelmed.
"(Wh-Why the heck did you bring this girl along!?)"
"(I just thought it'd be better if we all shopped for swimwear together... ...I-I didn't think Hime-chan'd get this hyped up, though... ...Sorry!)"
"(That's not it... ...Ugh, whatever, I know Himeko-chan's not a bad girl, but still!)"
Haruki shot a wry, apologetic smile toward Isami Ema, whose face was twitchin' with stress.
"I found some other ones that would look great too! Haru-chan, you get this one, and Ema-san, you get that one!"
"Hold up, isn't this one gonna leave my b*tt totally exposed!?"
"This one has chill colors but it's lace-up style... ...but hey, this could actually work, hmm..."
Even though Himeko was borderline harassin' 'em by constantly shoutin' stuff like "Do it for your boyfriend!" or "Your boyfriend would love this!", you gotta admit her fashion sense was on point.
And when Himeko started actin' all cute with that carefree smile, Isami Ema couldn't exactly shut Himeko down. Isami Ema just let out a weak laugh with a totally stressed-out look on her face.
"Oh! That shop over there—is that a corset bustier? It says they're havin' a fair for some pretty unique designs!"
"Wait up, Hime-chan! We gotta put the stuff we picked out back where it belongs first!"
"This kid is like a literal hurricane..."
Himeko kept pushin' 'em like "Hurry up, hurry up!" She was practically bouncin' on her toes.
Both Haruki and Isami Ema caught each other's eyes and both of 'em scrunched up their brows.
Suddenly, with a totally serious look on her face, Isami Ema took a quick glance at Himeko and then leaned in to whisper in Haruki's ear.
"L-Look, I'm totally on your side, Nikaidō-san."
"A-Ahaha."
Haruki gave a vague, awkward laugh to Isami Ema, who was just gettin' yanked around by Himeko left and right.

"Talk about a major haul, right, Haru-chan, Ema-san!"
"Totally. We went back and forth a lot, but we ended up pickin' out some k*ller stuff."
"A-Ahaha..."
Unlike Haruki, who was givin' a weak-ass laugh, Himeko's face was practically glowin', and Isami Ema was also lookin' pretty satisfied with a warm smile.
Pickin' out swimwear was a total nightmare. I mean, there were just way too many options and styles. Haruki had zero clue what to even go for.
Watchin' both Himeko and Isami Ema look through stuff with so much hype, Haruki was lowkey terrified, thinkin', "So this is what girl-style shoppin' is really like..."
Suddenly, Haruki remembered goin' to pick out a smartphone with Hayato the other day.
(Come to think of it, Hayato didn't even have a smartphone back then 'cause he had no idea which one to choose, didn't he?)
Just the thought of it made a giggle bubble up in Haruki's throat. Right then, Isami Ema spoke up.
"So, what's the move for lunch?"
"Um..."
When they checked the time, it was already a little past 2 PM. Lunchtime was long gone.
But man, they were feelin' way more wiped out than hungry, so weirdly enough, nobody's stomach was growlin'. Looks like Isami Ema was feelin' the same way, 'cause they just exchanged a look.
Suddenly, Himeko let out a confused "Huh?"
"What's up, Hime-chan?"
"Nah, I was just wonderin' if somethin's goin' down... ...Look over there."
Following Himeko's gaze, there was a whole stream of people headin' somewhere. And get this—it was almost entirely girls around Haruki's age.
Just like you'd expect, Himeko's face lit up with pure curiosity. Haruki just let out a weak "Ahaha."
"That's toward the Clock Plaza. Maybe there's some kind of event goin' on?"
"An event!?"
Himeko's eyes started sparklin' even harder.
Getin' hit with that innocent, "Please-please" smile left Isami Ema with no choice but to stutter out, "W-Wanna go take a peek?"
